THE NUMBER 30

our symbolic M.A.L.Es number. Why? v
It is the symbolic age when men
often begin to ask mature questions of themselves, and leave the image of
themselves as boys. v
It is the age when Jesus “made
his statement” about life and death. Practical Implications: Monthly
Day of Prayer On the 30th
of each month, we will join in a conscious prayer
day for other men and solidarity
day with other men around the world. Wherever
you are as you read this – mark your calendar for June
30th – our first intentional prayer day.
However you choose to spend this day (even if it is a normal working day)
– please make some time in the midst of it for silence and prayer (whatever
form you might let it take). You
might even schedule some time with other men in your area and share in prayer
and reflection together. Monthly
Day of Reflection On the 30th
of each month, we will examine what we have done for our brothers, fathers,
sons, and other men in the previous month, and maybe what we could do in the
month ahead. This
reflection could be done in the form of journaling, quiet reflection, or even
group reflection (for work being done in geographic areas).
In the next two months we hope to have a place on the website where
M.A.L.Es shares its reflection and a place where you can share your reflections. 30-30-30
Meetings
We suggest
that 30-30-30 might even be a good structure for starting a men’s group.

of sharing on the selected theme for the meeting FOREGROUND – 30 minutes
of what I need to do/change/improve in the month ahead Monthly
Donations $30
is an excellent amount for a regular (monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly) pledge
donation to continue the ministry of M.A.L.Es. While some might be able to
give more and some less – we hope that most can realize the investment they
are making (basically $1 per day) by taking such an action. Towards the end of summer,
you will receive specific information on how you can start making a monthly
pledge. Please begin praying about
