Men As Learners
and Elders (M.A.L.Es)
|

|
Programming
for M.A.L.Es is based on the following beliefs: · That
men can be serious and mature spiritual people. ·
That
men can be mentors for one another by example and energy (not just
through formal teaching). · That
Christianity/Catholicism can be an integral component in the process
among all religions to bring peace and healing to our world. · That
older men have something to offer younger men and that younger men are
eager to receive it. · That
there is an integrated school of men’s work that includes the best
from the mainline tradition and the best from contemporary psychology,
anthropology, and theology. The Rites
of Passage are most appropriate for those men who are spiritually
searching, who have probably done some men’s work already, and are
not in a major reaction against God, grace or transformation. This is not just another Christian/ Catholic men’s retreat.
While we use images and ritual from other religious traditions,
we don’t apologize for our Judeo-Christian heritage. Initiated
Men have
the opportunity to help the next generation of young men
by financially
supporting the M.A.L.Es program at Support
M.A.L.Es. The Small Group Format page contains suggestions for your Men's Group meetings. Our Conferences
are open to all men, including those who haven’t
participated in the Men’s Rites of Passage. Click on Calendar
to obtain the schedule for M.A.L.Es programs. For those men who can’t afford the conference fees,
you can submit a Scholarship
Application for consideration. To see if Fr. Richard Rohr will be in your area click on Richard on the Road. |
